network disconnects

okay, i have a problem with my linksys wrt54gs router. whenever another computer connects to the network, i get disconnected, if im downloading somthing it will end and i will get kickd off line. but then it will reconnect a few seconds later. i also have a PS3 and when i try to sign in online the PS3 Network, it gives me problems (it takes a few attepmts) and then it will disconnect my PC. also, my friend use to be able to get files from me through AOL instant messenger and now it wont let him.

Is your Router assigning addresses dynamically or are you statically assigning addresses? I would maybe try killing DHCP on the router and then statically assign addresses yourself. It could be issuing duplicate IP addresses. Not very common but I've seen it happen before.

As for the AOL thing... I would research and find out what ports AOL IM uses and open those in the applications tab of the router config and route those to your static IP address you just assigned as suggested above.

How about showing us this from the working computer.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.
