NO-IP DDNS No port 80 redirection
Hi,
First of all forgive my bad english, i expect everyone can understand what i am about to explian.... My problem is with my no-ip.com DDNS service... I have a Security Digital Video Recorder in my business network, i needed to publish it on the internet so i can have video surveillance over the internet, so i opneded the needed TCP/UDP ports on my router. I wrote down my current Public IP address (wich is dynamic) and went home to test my video server, i took my pc, typed the IP address in my Windows Explorer and it worked :D, video surveillance was running on the internet. After that i went to step 2, i signed up at www.no-ip.com and made de ddns domain timonmariscos.no-ip.org, installed the ddns client in one of my PCs inside my businees network and it correctly updted the current IP address to the DDNS no-ip.com server. So i went home again, tried to connect now typing timonmariscos.no-ip.org, the splash screen appeared asking me for my usr and password , i typed it and.... OUCH.... no DVR present :S.... Then i pinged timonmariscos.no-ip.org at command propmt, copied the ip adress resolved there, tpaste the ip address copied in the Internet explorer, and, spash screen appeared, typed my usr and pwd and IT WORKDED !! i think my problem resides in the following: NO-IP.COM ddns services automaticly redirects to the IP address the DDNS client updates and it also redirects to port 80 by default :S wich i dont need... i realized that because when ttrying to connect usind the ip address directly and not timonmariscos.no-ip.org, it worked !!! I think i need to configure my ddns acount no to redirect to port 80, wuch i dont know how to do :S, or to use another DDNS provide who doesnt redirect to port 80 by default. I wuld like my DVR works wth ddns and not hving to remember my almost daily changing my public IP address, Any suggesstiongs fellows??? I created a usr and password so anyone who wants to help can try it.... usr: 4321 pwd: 4321 timonmariscos.no-i.org and it works when directly using the ip address in the Internet explorer, so i dont think it is a port forwarding issue in my router.... Thanks to all of you for you help.... Again.. i do apologize for my bad english... |
