D-Link WBR-1310 Dropping Internet Connection
I'm having an issue with the D-Link router where it will decide to cut off the internet connection at around 3 hour intervals. I believe I've narrowed the issue down to the DHCP lease expiring and it's not able to renew it.
I've set the lease time to 3 months in hopes of solving this issue. However, it still drops the connection (but the computers still have a connection to the router itself). I've noticed that the internal clock is constantly defaulting to some random time in 2002. My guess is that the router is somehow going back to the default time and then the DHCP lease expires because of the invalid date and then can't renew itself. So far, restarting the router always clears up the issue, but I prefer not to have to do that every few hours I'm using it. Any ideas? |

Re: D-Link WBR-1310 Dropping Internet Connection
I think you'll need to fix the router to solve this issue if it's the clock resetting.
Here's a thought. Try configuring static IP addresses for this machine and see if that solves the problem. When it's working, just do this. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Take those values and configure the connection manually in Network Properties.

Re: D-Link WBR-1310 Dropping Internet Connection
I have thought of that and tried it already. It didn't do anything to solve the problem. Anything else I could try?

Re: D-Link WBR-1310 Dropping Internet Connection
Let's see the IPCONFIG after you have configured it manually. Can you PING the default gateway address after the manual configuration?
