Resolved: Changed my router IP, now can't seen networked PC
I had to change my router's IP today (at the request of my wife's IT tech, so her VPN will work). Wifi is working fine for internet, but now I can't see my networked server. I did an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but to no avail.
Is there something else that I need to do to remedy this problem? Thanks! |

Re: Changed my router IP, now can't seen networked PC
If you have static IP set for your network cards you will need to change your default gateway and your dns server so it will work.
If it is dynamically assigned you would have to type this in the command line to clear its cache (your computer). ipconfig /flushdns

Re: Changed my router IP, now can't seen networked PC
THanks for the responses. I think my router assigns static IPs, but I'm not sure. I do see, however, that since I changed the router IP from 192.x.x.x to 10.0.0.1, it has reassigned the other devices on the network to 10.0.0.x.
Here is what shows under the WAN section in my router setup page: Protocol: DHCP MAC address: 00:14:C1:2B:79:97 IP address: 192.168.15.100 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.15.1 DNS server 1: 68.87.71.226 DNS server 2: 68.87.73.242 Lease expires: 23 hours, 32 minutes, 3 seconds Thanks |

Re: Changed my router IP, now can't seen networked PC
On the server you can't access, let's see this:
Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here.

Re: Changed my router IP, now can't seen networked PC
At last, I got it. It was a firewall issue after all, and I wasn't familiar enough with the idiosyncrasies of Comodo firewall, but I got it. Thanks so much to each of you for your help.
