Network connections disapear from xp pro once connected to sbs2003 domain

Hi

I am have a major issue with a small business server 2003, The problem is the workstations x 15 are all running Xp pro once connected to the domain are losing all network connections, they can access mapped drives, though the lan connections are not visible and cannot browse the network, sometimes this can take up to 2 hours after a clean install before it happens, once it happens there is no way to access the network. Therefore something is replicating to the workstations... It has only happened recently when sp1 and sql lite was installed(not by me) so not sure what damage has been done. Any views on this matter would be appreciated

been looking in to this a bit further, no network connections visible in show network connections, though i can browse the network and connect through mapped drives...also the firewall seems to be disabled on the workstations, (doesnt matter we are behind a smoothwall anyway, (says the network connection is corrupt), have tried reseting permissions on the com+ folder, editing the registry (firewall keys) even tried editing the gpedit.msc for the firewall settings on the local machine, still no go...i still think its something replicating from the server.....any help would be appreciated

also found all workstations, connected for between 1-2 hours, loose network connections ( nothing shows in my network connections), windows installer and disk management wont open, no access.......have tried to edit the domain policy though have no access to it on the server...please if any one could help pleeese...
