My brother downloads, internet speed takes a big hit.
I don't know how the speed affects his part when I download things or whatever, but it seems like whenever my brother is downloading something, it really kills the connection speed.
I was playing World of Warcraft tonight, and he just finished installing WoW. So, he starts patching, and my latency jumps up to around 400-600ms. Browsing web sites is also a lot slower. We have the highest speed that Bellsouth Fast Access DSL provides, and I'm certain it's faster than our basic cable connection that we used to have. He used to use torrents, and it would do the exact same thing. I hope it doesn't act like this when we're both playing an online game at the same time. So basically what I want to know: Is this normal for my connection speed to take such a huge hit from him patching a game/downloading torrents? Last edited by BigfootKevin : 05-07-2007 at 12:49 AM. |
