I am currently using XP with SP2, and have a problem when the computer is left for a couple of hours without the internet connection being used. My Broadband connection drops (I am currently using Orange), but i can still access everything else on my home network. I have sort of got round the problem by setting up a schedule to ping www.google.co.uk every hour to keep my connection active, however this does not help when putting a computer into standby.
XP and SP1 does not have this problem, it appears to only be SP2 |
