Re: internet speed
Well at home I have 1.5mb, I get the same speed on the wirless to my laptop, as I get to my computer that is direct. Sometime I might get an extra 5 to 10 kb/s on the computer, but it is not much.
To find out how fast your downlaod speed would be for a rought estimate, 2mb (Mega Bits) so that would be 2,000 bits , and there 8bits in a byte so what you ned to do is divide it by 8. So that would be roughly 250 kb/s per second. Sorry if i got some the names wrong, in explaining it! Hope this is what you were after |

Re: internet speed
Quote:
2MB = 2048,000 kbps or 2048,000,000 bps (kbps = KiloBits Per Sec) (bps = Bits Per Sec) Divide by 8 will give 256 kbps or 256,000 bps if the data is coming from a router the only reason for getting different speeds would be because of "overheads" possibly caused because of bad signals or errors in transmission requiring retries. If you are getting a good signal with no interference from other sources then you should see similar speeds as would normally be picked up by a wired link.
