I'm at the end of my rope

About twice a week, and sometimes even like 3 times a day, the wireless connection in our house will just drop. The two computers are only about 10ft apart from each other. the computer with the router hooked up to it is in one room, and my comp is in the room right across the hall from it! And when the connection drops it takes almost half an hour to freakin reestablish it!! How the hell can it not find the wireless signal when it is almost right next to the damn router!!

Re: I'm at the end of my rope

Seems like something is interfering with your wireless signal. I had this problem on my router until I discovered that whenever my neighbor picked up his wireless phone (not a cell phone, just a wireless set connected to a landline), our connection went dead. Wound up getting a new router, cause it was on the same frequency as the guys phone and couldn't and wouldn't work at the same time.

Re: I'm at the end of my rope

Well here is the setup I have: Zyxel ADSL modem connected to Linksys WRT54G wireless router, and my Linksys USB adapter picks up signal. Are linksys known to do this? Someone who was a cert netoworking guy told me that the router I have is the best one, so that is why I bought it

Try changing the wireless channel. There are 13, and depending on the interference, some will work better for you than others.
