Losing Internet Connection After A Standby

When I boot after a shutdown or restart my HP Pavilion laptop everything is fine in regards to internet access through my DLink wireless router.

However if I start the laptop from a standby or hibernation, the internet explorer (v 6.0) will not open any page for me if I type the address using domain name or use it from the favorites.

The interesting part is that if I put an IP address in the browser, for example 216.239.37.99 it will open the Google page but if I type www.google.com or use it from favorites it can't open it.
Pinging any internet address using IP address works but not using its domain name.

If I then restart the computer everything will work fine but of course that is not very healthy thing for the machine, not to mentioning wasting time.

Thanks for help.

Re: Losing Internet Connection After A Standby

Try installing Mozilla Firefox. because Internet Explorer sometimes becomes crappy.

Download Mozilla Firefox from here.

Try that and give us feedback

Regards,
Normal.
Two other computers connected to the same router don't have this issue.

Re: Losing Internet Connection After A Standby

I'm also having this same exact problem. This only started occurring after my router installation. I'm on a Belkin router, and every time I put my computer on standby for a long period of time; Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox somehow become disabled until I restart my computer.
My apologies for posting in an old topic, but I would love if I could get this problem fixed...

This was long time ago...
The issue was caused by ZoneAlarm firewall.
I've resolved it by putting IP address of the router in the trusted zone.
Let me know if that helps you too.
