I have a pc that its operating system is Linux
and is used for Digital Video Recording. The operating system is embedded in a DOM ( Disk on Module ). We put this DOM as Master on the first slot of IDE 1 cable and on the IDE 2 cable we put the hard disk for the digital recording. When we push the start button the PC makes boot from this DOM chip and appears the GUI ( Graphical User Interface ) of the cameras. We do not have access in Linux Mode at all. The software of the GUI has an option that give us the opportunity not only to record on the local hard disk but to another hard disk of the LAN. The remote hard disk is located on a pc that runs at WinXP. But when i am on the local pc and make test to find the remote hard disk drive take no answer. In the required fields of the GUI we put the file system of the disk , the IP of the PC and the volume of the hard disk. How can I make the hard disk on the remote PC to be accessible from the local PC. It is advisable to format the disk on the remote pc with the same format that uses the linux. I know that linux uses different formats as far as the hard disk drives are concerned. Is there exist any program that if i install it on the remote pc ( winXP ) i can format the remote disk as if i have Linux???? |
