router problem

hi.
i believe there's something wrong with my router/hub (i have a home network).
i tried to use the command tracert in console with many sites and everytime i get alot of '*'s in the lines of each trace.
i doesn't seem to have problems with the downloading speed but it affect my connection to a game server wich is why i'm trying to solve this problem.
anyone have any idea what's the problem and what can be done ?

Well, that is certainly odd, can't say I've ever seen that before. It would seem to be either a firewall setting or perhaps something odd about the ISP.
