How to reset my Wireless modem to default ID and pass ??
hi, im using netgear wireless modem/router. the default id and pass for this device is admin and pasword but it does not let me log in using these two. i have checked with their website and these are the correct id and pass but still no luck. i cannot access my router even after reset which should default the router factory settings. i need these cos i wannna create security-enabled network. any suggestions on how to perform this ???

Are you sure you're holding the reset long enough to reset to factory defaults?

thx for your replies.
yes i tried admin , admin and no luck. i tried resetting the router many times. having hold the reste hole for a minute should have done the job, shouldnt it ? what can i do ? cudo |

Make sure you do the reset with power ON, not off.

It would be nice to know what the solution was for the benefit of future users that search and find this thread.
![]() To setup security on your network, we need to know what devices you're connecting, and what their encryption capabilities are. The best is WPA/WPA2 if all the devices support it. If not, you'll have to use WEP, use ONLY the hex key option with WEP, not the passcode option.
