Windows 2000 server - Network issue
Hi
We are having one of our sub office with 10 Pcs (All win xp - sp2 OS) with one windows 2000 server and 1 DSL line shared by all users using that as the Gateway. They were using a 24 port hub (They were in golden old days). Recently we changed the hub to switch after that the problem starts. Now some users face the problem as below: 1. Either their network application or Internet only will work. 2. Now for the other item to work - you have to either disable and enable the Local area connection. Or restart the system itself. 3. If you do so, then the other one will work the later one will not work. We are totally confuced what is happening. Any help is appreciated. Regards Ragav |

What type of switch?
I'm going to move this to the networking forum.

Re: Windows 2000 server - Network issue
Hi
It is an Alcatel 24 port switch. The m/c was an HP Machine. Just to try, I browse through the HP driver site and found a latest driver for the NIC card. After applying the same, the system seems to be stable. We have tested by rebooting the machine several times, all services like intranet appln, internet are all working fine. will update you back after few days of testing. Ragav
