how to setup a Buffalo wbmr-g54 router(x-fer from hardware)

trying to help a friend. I cant seem to get it to work, i have gone through all the set up ok but it still wont get onto the net. I have used the net using the 192.168.11.1 address to setup ok. but when i try to go to google i have no joy. I am sure that when i setup my own router i had to input my email and password to get onto my isp, but i cant find a place to do this with the Buffalo. To access the setup you nave to put in 'admin' as username and password.
Help please
