Users cannot log into domain

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with two of our users not being able to log into their computers after restarts/shutdowns. I found a solution, but it's just temporary and would like to know if anyone else can tell me a permanent solution. If I log into the computer as the administrator, join a workgroup, restart, log back in as admin, join the domain, and then restart, they can log in. But after shutting down or restarting, they are right back asking to be fixed. If I could tell them to never restart their computers again, I would, but we all know theres no such thing as perfect in IT. Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Users cannot log into domain

Have you tried creating a new user account for the machines in question to see if that changes the behavior?

Re: Users cannot log into domain

Do you mean make a new user in Active Directory or just sign in as a different user that hasn't logged in before? I can't log in under my user even though I have admin privileges, but I can log in as the actual Administrator in the computer. Once I have time to kick someone off their computer than I'll get the error message. It says something about not being joined to the domain. I'll find out soon.

Re: Users cannot log into domain

Be sure that the DNS on each of the machines is pointing at the Domain Controller, this is how Windows XP finds the DC.

Re: Users cannot log into domain

Yes. Everything is pointing to the right spot, settings are correct, and we have more than 70 users in AD. It doesn't make sense to me that it would work all day, then they log off, then they can't log back in until I rejoin them to the domain through the Administrator. How would it be pointed the wrong way with DNS? It only happens to two users right now, no one else can log into the domain on that computer when that happens, not even me, and I'm an Admin. I have to log into the actual computer as Administrator.

Re: Users cannot log into domain

I would start by checking the patch cables connecting that machine - this stinks of an iffy cable.
