VISTA won't create files or folders on server

I'm having an interesting problem with VISTA who should I contact to see if there is a solution?

Situation:

Windows 2003 server with domain.

All client PC's Win 2K & XP Pro till now are in a workgroup "WORKGROUP" NOT members of the domain.

The domain users are also users of the client PCs & when they log in to the local PC they also end up with access to their protected folder as well as other shared folders on the server.

They can edit, create, rename, deleted etc files and folders in their protected folder.

With VISTA one PC, a laptop would NOT allow any access other than reading copying down files from the protected folder until I changed the permissions & security on the server to give EVERYONE full rights to that folder. The user name Z& password were checked & rechecked because it looked so much like an unrecognized user, but the user as able to attach/map to any folder allowed without a problem so the user was recognized by the server.- Any ideas?

The 2nd PC - a desktop - was able to map the protected folder & the user could create/delete/copy files up or down from it.

Here's the 2nd problem, WHile both users can now create a new folder or file using right-click / New / Folder (for say text file) - the user can NOT rename the file or folder! Trying results in an error saying that the parent folder does not exist & do you want to create it? Saying Yes or No has the same effect of not doing anything except bringing the error message back up for Yes & doing nothing for no.- Any ideas?

The only way around this problem found so far is to create the file or folder on the local PC & then copy it to the server folder. Or open an existing file & use Save As to create a new named file on the server & then modifying the data in the file.

Re: VISTA won't create files or folders on server

The reason for problem #1 is that while the user was a member of the group "Users" this was NOT indicated in the column called "description" I made a new user who was also a member of the group "Users" & the column called "description" had "Users" in it for her & she was able to access the private folder she was given rights to.

Still could NOT rename a new folder or file made in the private folder.
