Internet connection not working
Hi there
There is a strange thing happening. My laptop's internet connection is not getting through. I use two types to connect to internet: 1. Wireless connection 2. Lan Connection 1. Wireless Connection: I use a HuAwei Internet Connection card . When i click the icon , it says "Loading API DLL Failed" 2. When i put the LAN cable, the connection is never established and when i press the repair connection , it says renewing Ip failed. I had several malwares (still not removed completly) and i believe one of the files might have been accidently deleted either by me or by the removal software. Please help me with this!!!! |

Re: Internet connection not working
Hello, what firewall, Security programs do you have installed? because it could be a firewall onther computer that is blocking you connecting to each other.
And with the viruses that you have had, What programs have you used to remove the malware? |

Re: Internet connection not working
Was the laptop able to connect to the network before?
Can you give us a little more info on your network topology. i.e. Modem, router, etc. and the way everything is connected.

Re: Internet connection not working
Thanks to you both for replying and i hope that with your help , i will be able to solve this irritating problem!!!
First Reply to Go The Power: I recently Installed Zone Alarm Firewall and thats the only firewall i have. Regarding Malware removal softwares: I use AVG mostly , and when this malware striked , i was still able to access internet , though internet speed was slow , which could possibly be attributed to that malware. I installed Counter Spy as well. I guess the problem is that one of this softwares deleted one of the internet connection files ..but this is just my guess... To : CraziJOE I use two internet connections to access net as told before but usually since i am moving , i use the wireless card based internet access. 1. Huawei Mobile Connect, Model EX 321, 3G Modem, COM 7 2. Ethernet: Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet NIC One thing i noticed was when i click the properties of the Wireless connection in Network Connections and click the Networking Tab, i find Qos Packet Schedular as ticked and i cannot un-tick it while the other items in the list i.e Internet Protocol, file and printer sharing, client for Ms Networks are also ticked but i can untick them if i want and also check their properties(not that i want to untick them but i dont find that flexibility with Qos...i never checked this before so i dont know if this is the way it always was) Hope the answer are apt as per the questions raised by you... Hope my problem is not beyond repair!!!! |

Re: Internet connection not working
You may need to reactivate the card with your ISP. I'm not sure how HuAwei works but we use Verizon cards here. In the connection manager for our air card, under tools we have an activation wizard that we run through. We have to do this whenever we setup new users, swap cards with different laptops, etc.. If the activation wizard does not solve the problem we end up resorting to calling Verizon which normally takes a good 3 to 4 hour chunk out of our day
.
