Internet latency issues
Hi,
I have had this problem since when i got my computer working again. Basically i have one god-awful latency when doing absolutely anything - from gaming to using general programs. Take this tracert for instance; C:\Documents and Settings\Maverick>tracert 85.236.127.20 Tracing route to 85.236.127.20 over a maximum of 30 hops 1 54 ms 84 ms 564 ms 10.137.140.1 2 22 ms 15 ms 16 ms bagu-t2cam1-b-v127.inet.ntl.com [80.5.163.97] 3 63 ms 96 ms 133 ms bagu-t2core-b-ge-wan63.inet.ntl.com [195.182.175 .33] 4 759 ms 104 ms 51 ms lee-bb-b-so-710-0.inet.ntl.com [213.105.174.73] 5 31 ms 56 ms 193 ms nth-bb-a-so-600-0.inet.ntl.com [213.105.175.133] 6 32 ms 123 ms 59 ms nth-bb-b-so-200-0.inet.ntl.com [213.105.172.194] 7 60 ms 95 ms 40 ms tele-ic-1-as0-0.inet.ntl.com [62.253.184.2] 8 169 ms 207 ms 430 ms 212.250.14.110 9 33 ms 72 ms 18 ms te4-1.telehouse-north.core.enta.net [87.127.236. 38] 10 141 ms 143 ms 61 ms gi4-3.enta-transit.as35028.net [84.45.252.122] 11 206 ms 26 ms 26 ms 85.236.127.20 Trace complete. I currently use Ethernet to connect to the internet and have a 2MB speed. That's a total joke. When i play in-game too, the exact same thing happens. The issue is not due to the UBR (i think) as i asked a friend to do the same tracert on the same IP. Another issue as you can see below; ![]() As far as i'm aware, even the most professional engineer or technician will have problems diagnosing and fixing this - i have made this post on several similar websites and also my ISP website, still no avail. I hope someone here can help guide me to the right direction. Cheers, Nick. |

How about, in that screen shot, when you click the networking tab. Is all quiet?
Just wondering if some malware was busy clogging up your resources... JB
