Making My WLAN a Secure Network

Greetings People!

I have recently established a WLAN in my apartment by a wireless modem.My connection does not have a problem, but, the things is, i have not made it private, thus many neighbors connect to the internet via my wireless modem!How can i make my network private so that only i can access it?

You need to enable encryption on the wireless link. The only truly secure encryption is WPA/WPA2 with a long and random key (20 characters or more). You can use WEP if WPA is not available on all your wireless devices, it's better than nothing. Don't fall for the garbage about MAC filtering, SSID hiding, etc., they'll only make your network harder for you to use.
