Laptop restart locks out printer
Hey all,
I just set up a wireless internet in my apt for my girlfriends new laptop. I set up the printer and got it to print properly, but the problem is that whenever the laptop restarts, it can't find the printer because the network login to my desktop is reset. I can't find anywhere to set it to remain, so I don't know how to fix this other than Network> *network location* > and entering the login stuff again. Its really annoying. Anyone know how to help?

How did you set up the printer? Did you use Control Panel>Printers and then use the add printer wizard?
Did you share the printer by right-clicking on the printer, choose sharing, then share it with other users on the network? Did you install all of the printer drivers? Did you do all of the above on the first computer that installed the printer - the one that "owns" the printer, to share it out? Did you use the wizard to install to all computers? If all computers aren't xp, you need to install the printer drivers on each machine. JB JB
