vista network tweaks?

Wifi performance acting poor lately. Not sure why. I've restarted my modem, router and laptop. Problem persists. Any recommendation for my connection settings below? Does WEP slow down connection?

Sony Vaio Centrino / Core 2 Duo / 2GB Memory
Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
Intel® PRO/100 VE Network Connection
