Dual gigabit controllers
I have the built in Dual Ethernet port, both are working individually, and ran into the same switch, but when both are enabled all of the data transfer is only used by one connection, the other dosent receive or transmit anything.
I would like to have one connection for big downloads and the other for surfing. Or if windows could just divide the data transfer into both LAN connections. What about bridging the connection?? Is there any benefit to network video streaming or file downloads and transfer by using both ports? If so, how would i set them up to work together? Thanks |

Your Internet speed, or even local video streaming, is so much slower than a single gigabit connection, this will result in no gain. I can promise you that it'll be a lot more complicated to try to get it running.

Not unless you have a line that's being bottlenecked by your LAN port, which is usually impossible. My board also has dual gigabit, but that'd only be useful if my entire network were gigabit and I was shuffling around HUGE amounts of data.

I disable one of my dual gigabit controllers in the BIOS. :)
If you were running a server, or had some other special requirement, you might use the dual NIC's, for most folks they're redundant.
