Trouble with programs accessing internet
Usually i don't find myself needing computer help, but this one has me stumped so if anyone could point me in the right direction i'd appreciate it.
My work computer can connect to anything i've tried except torrent downloads and poker sites. All internet explorer works and all other programs such as mirc and aim. I've tried to launch poker site software and i just get a failed to connect. So my bright idea was to bring in my sprint mobile broadband card that i use at home to access sites with and use it at work. Set it up, disabled my work network connection, connect to sprint network and alas same issue. Obviously this seems computer based but i dont know whats causing it. Only firewall running is windows firewall, which i dont beleive would block it, and only virus software running is the companys McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise, which is only a virus scanner and i didn't think this would cause my problem either. Any pointing in the right direction of what setting this might be would help a great deal. Thanks. |

Yes company computer and i assume its on a domain, but obivously my thinking is flawed if i thought disconnecting from the work network which accessed the internet and reconnecting through the sprint network would bypass such a domain?

Obviously you did not read the forum rules.
http://www.techsupportforum.com/rules.php Sounds like you company computer has some safeguards to to prevent users from accessing certain websites and use p2p apps. Sorry to say but we cannot help you circumvent your company policies or a computer that is not your own. We also cannot help with p2p apps. This thread is closed.
