CSU/DSU hookup? CCNA
Ok im working on my CCNA and I'm currently a Voice/Data Tech, not the best job but its a start. anyway I picked up some free equipment a kentrox satellite 651 DSU and I was confused by the interfaces on the back, I looked up a diagram online and I see that the DSU connects to the router. The network end I believe connects to the ISP's T1...now here is my question
ever since I been a Voice/Data tech all the T1's that are brought in by Qwest or what ever phone company. They bring in a box and hook up a pair of lines to it which has a card inside of the box. and below the box is a RJ-45 style plug-in. Now I usually hook this up to the routers T1 port/interface so where the heck does the CSU/DSU come into play? and how does this interface of the CUS/DSU I have connect to the a T1? i've been searching for days please help..Dustin(CCNA student) |
