Cannot find another computer?

Hi,

weird problem here - 2 comps on a home network

first comps IP is 192.168.2.195
server IP is 192.168.2.174

Now if i go on my server, i can ping the other cmoputer, and get a response.

However, the other PC cannot ping my server....

any ideas? if you need any more info please ask

also appears that the server cannot access internet for things such as MSN or EVE-online either... however internet explorer works.

Failure to ping is almost always a firewall configuration issue. That's the place to start.

the firewall is disabled..?

despite all my doubt turns out you was right - actually i didn't realise i had norton internet security - and my antivirus needs reinstalling (something probably hijacked it).

Has resulted in all this fuss for god knows how long... all fixed :D
