ultra vnc configuration

Hello,
So I have 2 computers and I want to be able to access one from the other (the server from far away with the laptop) so I downloaded ultra vnc cause I've heard good things.

I installed the server part on the server and the viewer part on the laptop and when I try to connect using the laptop (in the connect box I typed the server IP followed by a : and 5900 cause someone told me vnc uses port 5900). It asks for a username and password and I know the password I gave it (the same on both machines) but I don't know the default username.

Anyways I guess I just want some instruction as to how to make this work.

Ok, nevermind I got it to work. But I could still use some help getting the encrpytion plugin to work-so far every time I try it it doesn't recognize that the plugin is there.
