Setting up network help

Hi, I just got a new computer and want to share my DSL connection. I have a 4 port DSL/Cable router and if I understand correctly I have to do the following:
Cable to modem to the router.
Cable to computer1 to router.
Cable to computer 2 to router.

And thats it? right?

Anyway, if that right I did that, but still cannot connect with any computer, although on my router the lights are all green. Can't remember if I have to have a driver for my router installed on one or both computers. if so, I haven't done that yet, its an older model from networkeverywhere NR041.

The router needs no drivers. On one of the computers, do this:

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

can you connect to your routers configuration/administration page?

you should be able to see if your router is getting an IP address or not

also do what johnwill said
