wired internet problem

hello everyone , i've bin bothered with this problem for a long time now ,

used to never had this problem till we switched from wired internet to wireless , just a change of modems and a card in my computer and done ,
but when i started playing again (sof2) i noticed that every minute i lag a lagspike for a few sec , then back to normal , after a while it gets really annoying , because u blow yourself up etc so does anyone know how to solve this problem?

my wireless pc card is a belkin 802.11g
modem : philips model : sna6500/18

Switch back to wired :) I tried wireless and it worked well for everything but FPS games. You wouldn't think it would increase latency over such a small distance but it did. Also other things in your home can cause a disturbance in your wireless singal.

ok , but couldn't i just buy a cable that goes from my router to my computer , but what cable is it?

You are looking for a Cat 5 networking cable. This will hook your laptop up to the router. Also called Ethernet cabling.

oh , ok , but its not a laptop :) , how much would it cost for this cable i'm guessing it should be a cable of atleast 20m or so , and would this give the same result as regular wired internet? thx

Depends on where you shop. A 25 foot CAT5e pre-made cable should cost from $10-20.
