find ip
i have a network printer connected to the same switch as my computer.
how do i find out the ip address of the printer? or connect to it?

What kind of printer is it? Are you using an external printer server or straight thur the printer itself? Most printers have a feature where you can either print or display the setting and this should give you the IP. But like before if you tell us what kind of printer it is we can help you out more.

What do the installation instructions say? Depending on the printer, it may be getting it's IP address automatically assigned, or you may have to manually assign it.
You can use SuperScan to find all the IP addresses on your network, that might be useful.

thanks...but sorted it out already.......its a hp laserjet 2200....i didnt realise that you had to hold both the buttons down. (for some reason i thought it was the power button).....simple!
