Help to connect my two computers
I have 2 pc.
In one I use WIN XP and in another I use dual boot with WIN98 and Linux (ubuntu) (used by my son). Both of us are beginners with very limited knowledge in the topic I want some simple guidance to connect my two pc's so that the old data in my win98 pc could be read by me from WIN XP and to share internet connection etc. I have installed additional D-Link network adapter in WIN XP system and in WIN98 pc also i have installed D-Link Network adapter. I will be very grateful if somebody could guide me with step by step instructions to connect these two computers. Veda |

Thanks for the reply.
I have all the hardware ready and connected. My problem is with the software part of it. I don't know how to set up the connections. How to share the internet connection and assign ip address etc etc |

Personally, I'd go for a cheap broadband router and not be screwing around with ICS. You'll be much happier with the results.

USB connections are way down the list of ways to share, Ethernet will be a much better choice.
