Download Speed with Wireless Lan
hello there. i have 5Mb Download, 400Kb Upload cable. netgear A/B, 11mbps wireless router & a dell latitude laptop with the following specs:
Intel Centrino Duo 1.66Ghz 1GB Ram 1000Mb/s Internal Network Card 54Mb/s Wireless Card 256Mb Shared GeForce Video Card um...not sure if i said enough... anyway my problem is that my download speeds are lower on my laptop than on my PC which is connected with a cable to the router. I can download a file at 600kbps on my cable connected pc but on my laptop max at 40Kbps. HOWEVER after i run the 'Repair' on windows wireless network connection, the speed on my laptop increase up to 600k but then back down after a short while! anyone knows why? i have checked settings on my router and nothing special is setup. laptop goes through same crap the desktop pc does. help would be appreciated. |
