Network (?) problems

Hello,

Fairly recently, I've been gettting problems where my applications seem to time out or something. The internet seems to stay connected, but the applications tend to not work at points.

At first, I tried sorting out the wiring of my network, but that didn't work.

Then, it seemed that the problem seemed to be Spyware/Viruses etc., this seemed to do the trick. But now it seems that it's constantly happening, even if I find no spyware on my system (by the way, I'm using Spyware Terminator, AVG antivirus and Comodo Firewall)

Also, I can't seem to be able to access my router's web interface.

Now that the problem is back, I can't seem to find a solution for it :S

2 computers connect to this network, and I'm using an Edimax AR-7024Wg router. I use Tiscali Broadband.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

~ Haz

P.S. I don't think the firewall obstructs the applications. I disabled it and the problem still occured.

Do both computers have the issue, or just one? If just one, how about posting a HijackThis log for the offending system.

-if both computers have the same problem and you have scanned them both for spyware/virus/trojans and found one or more of these and romoved them and still the problem is still there, the effect of the spyware/virus/trojans that was removed could still be there. its like the enemy was neutralized but the damage it caused is still there and not repaired. the best advice and solution that i could give to you if the problem persist is to reformat your entire system.

i thought i'd do a scan before i went ahead with the reformatting, and here's what came up with HijackThis:

Code:
Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1
Scan saved at 19:00:10, on 23/11/2006
Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)

I've also found that it's when I'm using several applications that the problem occurs.

For example, if I'm using X-Chat on it's own, it seems to work fine. But when I'm using MSN, X-Chat and Firefox at the same time, everything seems to go awkward at that point.

Just thought I'd see if that gives any idea as to what's up o.o
