New Router connection loss issue
I've had no luck with tech support so thought I'd try here. I recently went from a Linksys router to a Linksys Wireless WRT54GS v6 router and have had nothing but problems with my connection. My computer is hardwired via ethernet to it as is 2 gaming consoles with a third gaming console being wireless and all are experiencing this horrible loss. What i've noticed is sometimes the upload speed will dramatically decrease. When Hardwired into the modem and speedtested I recieve back 14.25 mbps d/l and 784kbps u/l. On my old router I have 13.90mbps d/l and 732kbps u/l. Now with this new router I get around 13.75 mbps d/l (once it was 9857kbps d/l) and an u/l of around 12kbps. I've seen it at 32, 24, and 722kbs. I can't find whats wrong to be causing such a wierd change in connection speeds. I'm sorry if this is winded but I'm frustrated and am trying to explain my problem, if anyone can help me I will name my first born after you. Thanks!

What is the make/model of the broadband modem? Are you a cable account, DSL, fiber, what?
Does the slowdown occur with both wired and wireless connections?

Did you install the latest firmware for the router? Also, try resetting to factory defaults by holding the reset button 10 seconds or more and reconfiguring the router.

If it runs full speed directly to the modem, and not when you stick the router in the middle, I'd be suspecting an issue with the router.
One thing that might sound odd, try disabling the wireless section of the router as a test and see if that changes the situation for the wired stations.
