Page Cannot be displayed
Problem: “Problem: "Page Cannot be displayed"
I've have talk to 5 IP Service Techs (3 where level 2). I have Dial-Up & DSL for the time being. When trying to make a connection, everything operates normally, whether DSL or Dial-Up. The Icon displays on the taskbar, but I've notice only one monitor lights up (on the left-side). I click the IE icon, the window pop up, "Page Cannot be displayed". Then I checked the Status of the connection. Sent Received 5662 250 Bytes 0% 0% Compression 0 0 Errors I'm able to ping Yahoo (66.94.230.32) but not the website address (www.yahoo.com). I have ran Ad-aware 6.0 & Spybot-S&D 1.2, both come up clean. Device Manager only shows a problem with the Monitor (need update driver). Local Area Connection Properties. Internet Protocol (TCP/IP): Selected Client for Microsoft Networks: Selected File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks: Selected No Firewall installed at this time, although the last Service Tech I’ve talk to believe the only thing that can cause this problem is a Firewall Program. First off, try this Automated WINSOCK Fix all Windows Versions and reboot. If that doesn't so it, when connected to the DSL connection, do this:
Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here.

Here's the Microsoft article on re-installing TCP/IP, see if this restores sanity to the DSL connection. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=837333
FWIW, your DSL is going through a NAT layer (router), because you have private network IP addresses. What is the make/model of the DSL modem?

Well, they shouldn't, but I don't trust Microsoft 100%, so you may want a backup before you start.
