Internet connection

Hello Guys,

I live in my school dormitory, and after moving in, discovered that my computer cannot connect to the internet (it did connect when I was at my house)
I have an IBM Notebook, and I've tried several times to connect (Through Ethernet). Another person from the dorms, had the same problem with the same computer too, however, he spent about $40 updating "something".
I was wondering if you guys know what the problem is, all the rest of the students in the dorm. are connected. My computer is about 3 years old, thanks.

How about the version of Windows you run, I'm assuming XP.

Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.
