My System

Unable to modify shared folder remotely.

I just physically installed and networked my new SATA HD on "Computer A", which already has two physical IDE/ATA HDs.

Physically at "Computer A", I can xfer files from "Computer B" to all three HDs. I can also xfer files to "Computer B" from all three HDs.

Physically at "Computer B", I can xfer files from the three HDs in "Computer A" to "Computer B". I can xfer files to the first two HDs but I CAN'T xfer files to the SATA HD.

The security permissions for all three HDs in "Computer A" are all the same: Everyone - full control, access, read, write, etc.

How can I fix this problem with the SATA HD? IOW, I want to be able to remotely xfer files to the SATA HD instead of physically going to "Computer A" to xfer the files from "Computer B" to the SATA HD.

Thank you.

Did you right click on the new SATA drive and select sharing and actually share the drive?

Of course I did --- there's the "hand" icon underneath the drive icon. Besides, I can view the contents of the SATA drive from "Computer B".

I tried to write to the networked-actually-shared-SATA HD and then I get the error of the "BLUE BAR"'s title, "Error Copying File or Folder". Then the error of the "RED X"'s message, "Cannot copy (Info): Acces is denied. The source file may be in use."

Remotely, I am unable to write to the networked-actually-shared-SATA HD, even though I can read it. I can write to the SATA HD locally but I want to write to the SATA HD remotely to. Can we figure this out together?

Okie cheers then!

P.S. Is the reason your asking so many questions because I've not given you anything useful?

Right click on the shared folder and look at the security settings. Perhaps the network users are only granted R/O access to files.

THe only object that have permissions is "everyone", which BTW has every checkbox checked for allow.
