Browsers Failing after a few minutes, Internet still working?

Ok, I have been having this problem for the past few days. I will boot up my computer, internet will work fine, then my browsers will be unable to reach the internet after 5 or so minutes, however all my instant messaging programs continue to function normally.

The only fix I have found is restarting the computer, which gives me 5 minutes to use the internet, then having to restart again.

I have ruled out a specific browser problem, as IE7 and Firefox both do not work.

Also, all other programs besides instant messaging programs that require internet access, are unable to connect.

I am also unable to log into my router when this problem is happening. I have a Linksys WRT-54G, and I am unable to even get a log-in box.

Any help is appreciated!
