Please Help, Wireless Adapter Gone
I recently needed to upgrade my harddrive. I received it in the mail today and I just installed XP Pro on it using my CD. Everything goes fine except for the fact that my embedded wireless adapter that came with the computer is gone. It isn't recognized at all, not in the Device Manager, and the little wireless on/off button doesn't function.
My laptop is an HP. I am thinking there must be some sort of driver pack or something to get the functionality back. Is this correct? Also, a side note, the Standby option is greyed out after the install. What gives? Thanks. |

Install the driver software for the adapter. HP should have some downloadable package of drivers or you may have received a driver CD at purchase. If you provide the Forum the adapter Manufacturer and mode someone can help out to find a suitable driver.
The standby option requires that Fast User Swtiching is enabled.
