Reformat Messed Up Network!
hey guys,
Last night i reformatted my hard drive and everything went well but when i reinstalled windows and booted up, the internet was not working on that pc. I then turned off all my pcs and restarted the moden and router. Before that , my other pcs internet was working but after the restarting of the modem and router, nothing was . My friend says it may be a driver problem the network card in my pc i reformatted. THe weird thing is after i unplugged the router and made the connection directly to one pc ( not the reformatted one ) , it worked on that pc fine. My ISP isnt down, that is for sure but i am confused about what i need to do to get my network of 4 computers up and running again. Here are the two system specs for the main computers. EDIT : Do i need new drivers and can the recently reformatted pc's problem be translated to my whole network being down? Also, on the reformatted pc, the network connections list isnt even recongizing anything from the ethernet card ( LAN Network) 1. THE REFORMATTED ONE 3.4 GHZ P4 1GB RAM 250 GB HDD 2. THE PC CONNECTED TO THE MODEM NOW 2.4 GHZ P4 512 MB RAM 80 GB HDD Thanks guys, any comments would help! |

you have to reset it up and the network on the reformatted pc
if the nic is onboard have you run the m/b setup cd if it is a card install the driver, check the device manager for any yellow alongside of it's entry when you reformat collect your required drivers together before you start
