Router not responding...

I've been trying to get Bittorrent running on my network and I realized that I needed to forward a port. My problem is that I can't access my router. In DOS it is listed as 192.168.1.1 as my default gateway. Ive tried IE, Firefox, Opera, and Windows Explorer but i haven't been able to access it. I get errors such as "The Connection was Reset" or "The Connection Was Refused." Please help!!!
