What hardware do you have and what operating systems are the pc's? What type of internet are you running (dsl, cable, dial ect)?
I would be happy to help you and get you running. What you will need is a router with a build in switch (most netgears, linksys, and dlink's have this). The big question is are you running network cable to these pc's or do you want to go wireless? I can help you with either setup and depending on the router you have/purchase, the more automated the process is. But, at the very least, for simple, down and dirty networking, each computer has to have it's own ip address (handled by your router usually), each computer SHOULD be in the same workgroup (if you plan on seeing each other for file/print sharing) and each computer has to have a unique name on your network. Answer the questions above and we'll go from there.

Perhaps you should tell us exactly what hardware you have, make/model, also the ISP and the make/model of the modem. Also, what version/patch level of Windows in use.
