Need help with internet!!!

Ok... So this is whats going on. My hard drive got all messed up and I had to buy a new one. I bought it and it works fine and everything. But when I connest my modem to my computer it doesnt detect it nor do I have internet. Iam 100% sure I need no software for my modem, because I have tryied it in two other computers and it works fine. My theory is that something is wrong with my ethernet port. Maybe it is because I have a new Hard drive. Is there a driver i have to install to make it work? I need help very bad.

Do you have dialup, cable or DSL?

The more details you can give us, the better and fastter the answer will be.

Thanks but I fixed it. I had to install my Ethernet Controller.
