Wife killed laptop

My wife go to playing around with the recovery disc to our Gateway laptop and she ended up reformatting it. I got windows xp home back on it any everything else except the wireless network adapter. Its shows up in device manager with a yellow flag and it says "code 10 device failed to start". I've tried everything that I know to do and I still cant get it to work. I called tech support and they was inside my computer for about 2 hours and they also failed. PLEASE HELP.
