server not found errors on all computers on a network

using firefox, a linksys wireless-g adapter, and netgear's 108mbps wireless router, i am getting a lot of server not found errors, it always seems to be when i am connecting to a server after not having done so for a while, navagation within a page doesnt seem to get this error.

i am getting this error on my desktop wirelessly, my siblings' desktop connected directly, and both of my parents' laptops, connected wirelessly (like i said, my computer has a linksys wireless-g adaptor, my parents' laptops are both both hp's and i think they have broadcom adapters). i use firefox, the other desktop uses both firefox and ie, and the laptops both use ie exclusively. the newer of the 2 laptops seems to have the least problems, mine is second, the other laptop is third, and the desktop conneced with a wire has the most problems.

in all cases, the computers are connected to the router properly and repairing the connection doesnt seem to do much.

i am not very well versed in adjusting the settings on this router, and i wouldnt know where to start if i did. all i have to go on is that when i try to connect to msn and it fails, the troubleshooting thing that msn does tells me that the problem is with dns or key ports.

any help i can get would be greatly appreciated.
