Help with network!
Hi
Great forums!! I am trying to set up a netgear router on to my PC. When I insert the instillation CD and follow through the set-up it says "Internet Connection Not Available". I'm confused. The whole point of me installing the router is to get an internet connection. How do I get one whilst installing it? I went to control panel and phone/modems and saw that my PC has no modem listed. Surely this can't be right? It's quite new and I have accessed the internet before using it. Thanks for any advice. Sorry if my question is really obvious...I am new to this!! Thanks... Anne |

Give us the make/model of the modem, the router, and the version/patch level of Windows in use.

Thanks for your replies guys. I actually found out the problem which was that this new router I bought didn't have a modem built-in, where as the old one did. Thanks...
BUT now my PC has gone and broken. Well, it could be the screen. When I turn on the power the screen just says "No Signal" and nothing happens. I hear the computer start up and everything, and the cables are all correctly plugged in. Is it likely to be a problem with the PC itself or just the matter of having to get a new monitor? Thanks... :) |

Hard to say, but I'd simply pack the monitor to another machine and test it.
