Windows Network Issue

I have 5 PCs all running Windows XPPro SP2; A, B, C, D & E. A can Explore to B, C, D, & E and B, C, and D can do the same. E however, can not see A, B,C, or D; it does see itself. All are in the workgroup, WORKGROUP, all have firewall checked off. Again, when you go to the control pannel of E, the Secrutiy Center shows Firewall ON, but if you click the firewall Icon, it shows the firewall truned off (Not Reccomended). I checked the usual Internet settings, why I have not idea, thinking they were causing the false Securtiy Center indicator. I desparately need to get the PC into the network.

I look for some additional guidance on this issue.

Can you ping both ways by IP address and name between computer A and computer E?

On computer A and computer E, do this:

For 98 or ME, Start, Run, COMMAND to open a DOS window:
--- or ---
For 2K or XP, Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

No IP address envolved, straight Windows network using workgroup WorkGroup.

There is always an IP address involved, unless you're using IPX as a network protocol. TCP/IP requires an IP address to do anything.
