help with modem!!!!!!!!

hi i could really use some help im working on a windows 98 compter i had to reinstall windows now my dialup modem is not working at all. i have tried everything. any suggesstions on how to get my modem working again? it also has a question mark in the device manger under pci communications device please help thank you.

click on the device and see what it says is the problem,probably the driver needs reinstalling

i clicked on pci communications device and it says the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)i clicked the reinstall drivers but it wont install them. thanks for ur help

if you do not have them on disk,then you will have to d/l them from the manufacturers site or the internet

see what is written on the main chip or on the board

i dont see anything on the board itself but i do see a black chip it says ambient and its got numbers there but cant see them they r very small.

put it back in the computer and in the device manager,go into it's properties and see if it lists it
if not start picking them with apin until you find one that works
rockwell was one of the popular ones

its not in the list........im not sure what aspin is sorry but i might be able to get it in the drivers guide i hope any ways.

well i think i have another problem there drivers are winzip i reinstalled this computer and there is no winzip on it now is there any drivers thats not in a winzip thanks for all ur help.

You can download the demo version of winzip here, you should be able to extract the driver files you need with that.

ok but i need to put the winzip on the other computer im working on can i maybe extract the files first on my xp then put them on a floppy disk 4 the other computer? i have no clue

Hi,

You could burn the winzip exe file to cd then install wizip on the problem computer from the cd.

Then unzip the modem drivers
