After pinging several different IPs, modem goes null for several minutes
This is dealing with an external DSL/Cable Modem... Okay, this usually only happens when I'm gaming, but, when I ping a large amount of servers, or any, actually, my modem will not receive bytes for about three minutes. (This does not happen when I'm browsing web pages though.) In order to avoid waiting three minutes, I just restart my modem after pinging a whole bunch of servers otherwise I have no internet during that period. Once it's restarted it can get internet again. The modem is a combined with a router too, and it has alot of attack protection options that I don't know alot about, but, I'm thinking it could be the modem requesting a new fake IP after pinging so many servers. For defense purposes. But, since I'm not a professional, I think I'll ask the rest of you.
