Cable Problems Again, =/.

After a long ordeal with my internet in the early days of January I thought I had solved this problem. My internet hadn't been working (cable, thorugh Road Runner) but suddenly it started moving at normal speed, it said 100 Mbps. Well, one day I kick it on accident and all Hell breaks loose. It won't work again and I have to disconnect and reconnect the ethernet cable to get it to work, eventually. However, when it does start working, eventually, it goes a bit slower than it was but it still says it's at 100 Mbps.

When trying to get a connection through disconnecting the ethernet cable and reconnecting it, I often get a Limited or No connectivity message. I just wanna figure this out, =/. I can get onto X-Box live with no problem so I'm guessing it must be a problem IN the computer or something on it stopping me from connecting at full speed.

You won't feel a drop in a 100Mbps connection unless it falls beneath the 1.5Mbps speed. You may have damaged the T-Base 10/100 jack on the devices in question which would account for the unstable connection.

And... what does that mean and/or what could I do about it?
